Van Opstal, a European company operating in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, sells furniture fittings and kitchen accoutrements. For its corporate headquarters in Aartselaar, a small town located on the outskirts of Antwerp, Belgium, the company needed a design that would complement its corporate image. The resulting building, created by architect Jan Marckx, articulates an unadorned, sleek aesthetic. A combination of metal ceilings, facades, and sun louvers from Hunter Douglas fit very well with this approach. In addition, the metal ceilings provide integrated cooling and heating systems.
