Hunter Douglas Contract exhibited at the AIA show in Miami June 10-12, showing for the first time all its commercial/contract product lines, including window coverings, ceilings, Nysan solar control (exterior shading) systems, and NBK facades. An exciting display of translucent resin panels by 3form was also a part of the booth.
Here are some highlights:
* Window coverings introduced a new RB500 hardware system for manual and motorized roller shades along with a selection of our innovative screen fabrics; 95% recycled aluminum blinds; elegant Silhouette FR shadings; and energy-efficient Duette FR honeycomb shades.
* Ceilings showed some great options for wood-finish ceilings, including films and wood designs digitally printed on our Techstyle Canvas acoustical panels.
* Nysan solar control featured a variety of innovative shading solutions, including exterior roller shades and venetian blinds; glass and metal louvers; skylight tension shades; and one of the world's most advanced approaches to automation and control.
* NBK facades showed its range of ventilated rainscreen facades. The NBK facade system upgrades both the look and performance of the building envelope for either new construction or recladding, and is offered in a wide selection of colors, glazes, textures, shapes, and sizes, including exclusive large-format tiles.
Hunter Douglas also showed a new concept product called the solar window, which incorporated high-performance glazing; a water-based trombe wall within the window that stores passive solar heat and radiates it over time; and automated exterior shades to control the heat gain taken in by the trombe wall/window.
