    PLANKS

    Stretch Metal Planks are a versatile design material that allows architects to create a striking visual effect with their interior metal ceiling design. The wide choice of patterns, materials and colours can give a project a unique appearance.

    General Information

    Why Planks?

    Luxalon® Stretch Metal planks are ideal for projects where either a high level of acoustic absorption is required or where visual and physical transparency of the ceiling is requested. The systems are also ideal for environments where regular access into the plenum is required.

    Characteristics

    • Installation as lay-on planks, in G-grid or Hook-on
    • Virtually unlimited choice in mesh types offering versatility in ceiling design
    • Plank dimensions up to 500mm in width and 2500mm in length
    • Strong acoustic performance when combined with acoustic pads
    • Easy access to the plenum and installations above the ceiling
    • An impact-resistant version is available for sport hall applications

    Application

    Stretch Metal planks are suitable for all building sectors including corporate, transport (airports, metro, bus & train stations) retail, leisure, public space, hospitality, healthcare, education and residential.

    Design & Inspiration

    Luxalon® Stretch Metal is a highly versatile material that can provide an array of extra visual effects to a ceiling. Individual customization of a ceiling can also be achieved by varying the types of mesh, their arrangement, the lighting and the colour.



    The standard colour range consists of 225 RAL and NCS colours. A large number of the RAL colours are available on a short delivery time. In addition, there are several special metallic colours and chrome finishes available from the Stretch Metal palette. Other special colours are available on request.

    Material characteristics

     

    Luxalon® Stretch Metal planks are designed to be installed on a choice of systems: lay-on corridor, lay-on bandraster, hook-on Z-profile or hook-on Safety Loop. Luxalon® Stretch Metal planks enhance the modular design pattern. Stretch Metal planks and systems can also be adapted to suit specific project requirements.

    Acoustic information

    Using acoustic pads on top of the Stretch Metal tiles offers exceptional acoustic performance. The thickness of the pads can be selected dependent on the required acoustic values. The acoustic absorption value can reach αw = 1 with an acoustic pad of 85 mm.

    Het assortiment plafondproducten van Hunter Douglas Architectural draagt bij aan duurzame gebouwen door middel van esthetische oplossingen die het comfort verbeteren en energie besparen. Het bevorderen van de gezondheid en het welzijn van de gebruikers is waarschijnlijk de belangrijkste functie van een gebouw. Onze zonweringoplossingen bevorderen het gebruik van gezond daglicht zonder vervelende verblinding of gebrek aan thermisch comfort.     Verantwoorde materialen

    Ecologisch verantwoorde materialen zijn essentieel voor een duurzaam gebouw. Onze strategie is erop gericht om materialen te selecteren die op zichzelf al goede ecologische eigenschappen hebben. Veel van onze producten zijn gemaakt van aluminum dat in onze eigen smelterij wordt geproduceerd. Wij hebben onze processen geoptimaliseerd om tot 99% gerecycled materiaal te gebruiken om de juiste legering voor onze producten te produceren. Ons hout is FSC-gecertificeerd en wij omarmen het cradle-to-cradleprincipe in onze productontwikkeling.

    Energiebesparing

    Verlaging van het energieverbruik van het volledige pand is cruciaal om opwarming van de aarde tegen te gaan. De meeste moderne kantoorpanden verbruiken meer energie voor koelen dan voor verwarmen. Een effectief beheer van de zonne-energie die door het transparante deel van de gevel heen dringt, is een belangrijke strategie bij het voorkomen van oververhitting in zowel oude and nieuwe gebouwen.
