Furman Hall is a new building at the New York University (NYU) School of Law designed by Kohn Pederson Fox Associates. Notably, the firm's design of Furman Hall meets the practical needs of the school, but also maintains historic elements that existed at the site, including the facade of a former residence of poet Edgar Allen Poe. Inside, features like a striking room with 29-foot barreled ceilings and details like custom wood blinds from Hunter Douglas establish a studious, comfortable look. From the outside, its distinctive yet traditional styling fits well with surrounding buildings.
