PROSCREEN - EXTERNAL ROLLER BLIND
ProScreen External roller blinds offer effective solar control and enhance the appearance of a buildings façade. Filtering solar radiation, the fabric reduces glare and the amount of light and heat that enters the window while still allowing an outward view. Hunter Douglas ProScreen is a cost-effective roller blind designed with years of experience in engineering, production and installation.
Overview
General Information
Why ProScreen?
Windows provide contact with the outside world, creating a feeling of comfort and wellbeing and increasing people's productivity. External Roller blinds keep this connection intact while protecting the interior from glare and heat gain caused by the sun. Hunter Douglas ProScreen is a reliable roller blind system using the highest quality fabrics that includes Enduris® Glass Core technology. These fabrics are totally weather resistant and dimensionally stable due to the thermo fixation between the yarns. The 3% openness factor provides a comfortable light level inside together with a good view outside.
Characteristics
- Reliable and elegantly designed hardware
- Easy to install with easy maintenance access

Design & Inspiration
ProScreen External Roller Blinds with their clean and crisp appearance can be an excellent addition to the facade design. Practically invisible when retracted they can add an attractive touch of colour when deployed.
Colours & Finishes
The hardware components of the ProScreen roller blind mainly consist of extruded aluminium profiles. These can be natural anodised or powder coated in any RAL colour. The collection of available fabrics comprises two different weaves, various openness factors and more than 30 colours.

Product Details
ProScreen roller blinds are typically suited for installation around the face or in the window opening. In both cases an extruded aluminium cassette will protect the fabric against weather conditions and dirt when retracted. Alternatively the ProScreen roller blind can be placed between the inner and outer wall, with the fabric retracting completely out of view. Specially designed side guiding profiles close the cavity without the need for extra flashings or trims. When installed on face, a side guiding system is provided by a steel cable for minimum visibility or by an aluminium profile for higher wind resistance. A continuous zip guiding of the fabric further increases wind stability so that the blind can be relied upon even under high wind loads. For increased efficiency two or three adjacent bays can be operated by one motor.

Sustainability
Health and wellbeing
The Hunter Douglas Architectural range of ceiling products contribute to sustainable buildings through aesthetic solutions that enhance comfort and save energy. Promoting the health and well being of their occupants is arguably the most important function of building. Our shading solutions promote the use of healthy daylight without the hindrances of glare and thermal discomfort. Our acoustic ceilings are a key element in the provision of acoustic comfort.
Sound materials
Environmentally sound materials are the key to a sustainable building. Our strategy is to pick materials that have good environmental properties to start with. Many of our products are made of aluminum produced in our own smelters. We have optimised our processes to use up to 99% of recycled content to produce the right alloy for our products. Our wood is FSC certified and we embrace the Cradle to Cradle principle in our product development.
Energy savings
Reducing the energy use of the total building stock is key to the prevention of global warming. Most modern office buildings use more energy for cooling than heating. Effective management of the solar energy that passes through the transparent part of the façade is a key strategy in the prevention of overheating in both old and new buildings. Our high performance shading solutions bring substantial energy savings, while at the same time promoting health and wellbeing.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Keen on Green is an important company-wide initiative to reduce energy consumption, water usage and our overall carbon-footprint. We embrace the ISO 14001 framework to actively manage our Keen on Green objectives. Hunter Douglas and its employees actively support the communities in which we live and work, as well as those on a more global scale. Business is people. We pride ourselves on our worldwide network of experienced, intelligent, passionate and creative people who have consciously chosen Hunter Douglas as their employer.
